This policy covers the following apps published by Kinsman Software LLC:

• Crazyhouse Chess

• Chess by Kinsman Software

Offline play collects nothing

Playing against the computer, playing two-player on one device, and Play Nearby all run entirely on your device. For those modes we do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. Your saved games and game history are stored only on your device.

Online play accounts

The optional “Internet Game” feature is the only part of these apps that sends anything to us. To play online you create an account, and we receive and store:

Your name (the display name you choose) and email address, used to identify your account and sign you in.
Your password, which is stored only as a salted hash — never in readable form.
Game data for matches you play online (moves, invite codes, and which players are seated at a game), so the two devices stay in sync.
Subscription status, so the server knows whether your account may play online. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.

This information is used only to operate online play. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for tracking. You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Internet Game → account → Delete Account), which removes your name, email and stored games from our server.

If you never use Internet Game, no account is created and nothing is sent to us.

Game Center

If you choose to sign in to Apple Game Center, your win scores are submitted to an Apple Game Center leaderboard. That feature is provided by Apple and governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can disable Game Center at any time in iOS Settings.

Nearby play

The optional “Play Nearby” feature connects two devices directly over the local network (Wi-Fi/Bluetooth) to exchange chess moves. No data leaves the two devices and nothing is sent to us or any server.

Children

These apps are rated for all ages. Offline play collects no data at all. Online play requires an account with a name and email address, so it is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
